Problem: Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2025-2027 Vision school buses equipped with Ricon K-Series wheelchair platform lifts. The electrical contactor may fail, preventing the controls from stopping the lift.
Risk: A wheelchair lift that continues to move while occupied increases the risk of injury.

Electrical System › Wiring (26V519000, 2026-08-10)
Problem: Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2021-2024 and 2026-2027 Vision School Bus (Electric), and 2023-2027 Vision School Buses. The 12V power wire on one of the harnesses may become damaged and short circuit.
Risk: An electrical short can cause a disruption to safety functions such as a loss of rear lighting or instrument panel warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free fix: Dealers will add an in-line fuse and repair the wire harnesses as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 9, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R26AG.
Service Brakes, Hydraulic › Foundation Components › Hoses, Lines/Piping, And Fittings (26V466000, 2026-07-20)
Problem: Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2022-2027 Vision school buses. The exhaust hanger cotter pin may contact the hydraulic brake line, damaging the line and causing a brake fluid leak.
Risk: A brake fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source such as hot engine or exhaust components can increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, a brake fluid leak can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free fix: Dealers will replace the exhaust hanger cotter pin. Dealers will also inspect and replace the brake lines as necessary. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 17, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242.

Problem: Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2027 Vision school buses. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.
Risk: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Problem: Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Vision and All American school buses. The windows may have illegible DOT markings. As such these windows fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 205, "Glazing Materials."
Risk: A missing DOT code mark may result in the window being replaced with an incorrect type of glass, increasing the risk of a injury.

Problem: Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2025-2027 Vision school buses. The wheelchair lift may have a missing support brace, causing the wheelchair lift to fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 404, "Platform Lift Installations."
Risk: A wheelchair lift that fails increases the risk of injury.
