An Outlook email signature that doesn't fall apart
Classic Outlook for Windows renders email with Word's engine, which ignores flexbox, grid, CSS classes and most background images, so many pasted signatures collapse. Sigsprig's templates use only nested tables, inline styles, fixed image widths and web-safe fonts. Paste the signature into new Outlook or Outlook on the web (Settings, Accounts, Signatures), or download the .htm file and put it in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Signatures for classic Outlook.
What classic Outlook needs, and what Sigsprig does
| Outlook (Word engine) limitation | Sigsprig template approach |
|---|---|
| Ignores <style> blocks and classes | inline styles only (checked) |
| No flexbox or grid | nested tables with cellpadding/cellspacing/border |
| Resizes images without width attributes | width (and height for photos) on every image |
| Shows rounded photos as square | square-safe photo crop; rounded is optional |
| Signature files live per computer | download .htm for %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Signatures |

Why teams pick Sigsprig
- Built for Word-engine Outlook: tables, inline styles and fixed image widths only, checked automatically.
- Download a .htm file for classic Outlook's Signatures folder, or paste into new Outlook and Outlook on the web.
- Honest caveats up front: rounded photo corners show square in classic Outlook; images must be public URLs.
- Pay once ($15) instead of a monthly signature service.
How it works
- Make your signature and click Copy signature (or Download .htm).
- New Outlook / Outlook on the web: Settings → Accounts → Signatures → New signature → paste → Save.
- Classic Outlook: File → Options → Mail → Signatures… → New → paste, then pick it for new messages and replies.
FAQ
Why does my signature look different in Outlook?
Classic Outlook uses Word to draw email, so modern CSS layout is dropped. Table-based signatures with inline styles, like Sigsprig's, keep their layout.
Where does classic Outlook keep signatures?
In %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Signatures on each computer. Put Sigsprig's downloaded .htm file there and it appears in the Signatures list.
Why are my images blocked?
Outlook may ask recipients to download pictures; that is their setting. Use public https image URLs so they load when allowed.
Why not WiseStamp?
WiseStamp is billed monthly (Pro+ $9/month on annual billing, checked 2 Oct 2026) and adds central management. Sigsprig is $15 once for one person.
