Each recall: problem, risk and fix
Equipment › Mechanical › Boom/Crane/Ladder (26V217000, 2026-04-06)
Problem: Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain 2015-2026 Arrow XT, Enforcer, Impel, and Velocity 107â ladder and 110â platform aerial firetrucks equipped with a single rear axle. The firm-on-ground system light may remain illuminated after the rear stabilizer loses contact with the ground.
Risk: A false firm-on-ground indicator light may lead to using the aerial device when the vehicle may shift during aerial operation, increasing the risk of injury.
Free fix: Pierce will provide instructions on how to update the vehicle software and perform an aerial device functional check, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 29, 2026. Owners may contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723.
Wheels › Rim (24V905000, 2024-12-02)
Problem: Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Enforcer, Quantum, and Velocity fire trucks. The tires mounted on the front steer axles are incompatible with the wheels. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 120, "Wheels and Rims - Other Than Passenger Cars."
Risk: The tires can separate from the wheels, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free fix: Pierce will supply new front steer axle wheel/tire assemblies and updated tire information labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 23, 2024. Owners may contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723.
Electrical System › Wiring (23V823000, 2023-12-07)
Problem: Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain 2019-2023 Arrow XT, Enforcer, and Velocity mid-mount tower trucks equipped with an aerial platform basket. The electrical connector to the aerial turntable wiring harness may not be properly secured, which can result in connector corrosion and affect the leveling ability of the platform basket.
Risk: An inability for the platform basket to maintain level can result in the basket tipping, increasing the risk of injury.
Free fix: Pierce will replace the aerial turntable wiring harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 14, 2023. Owners may contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723. Pierce's number for this recall is 74B330.
Equipment › Mechanical › Boom/Crane/Ladder (23V096000, 2023-02-17)
Problem: Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Velocity, Impel, Enforcer, and Arrow XT 110-foot aerial trucks. When the aerial platform is extended to its maximum angle, the platform mounting bracket may interfere with the basket handrail hinge peg and cause the handrail to detach from the basket.
Risk: A basket handrail that unexpectedly detaches from the basket may increase the risk of injury to first responders using the handrail or to individuals on the ground near the vehicle.
Free fix: Dealers will install new basket handrail hinge pegs, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 16, 2023. Owners may contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723. Pierce's number for this recall is 74B326.
