Each recall: problem, risk and fix

Electrical System › Propulsion System › Traction Battery (25V456000, 2025-07-08)

Problem: Motiv Power Systems, Inc. (Motiv) is recalling certain 2021-2024 F-59 vehicles equipped with a Motiv Gen 6 EPIC powertrain. The high voltage battery pack may be improperly sealed and allow liquid to enter the battery.

Risk: Liquid intrusion into a battery pack can cause a loss of electrical isolation or short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire or shock hazard.

Free fix: Motiv worked with Our Next Energy to inspect and repair the battery packs as necessary, free of charge. All affected vehicles were repaired by November 2024. Owners may contact Motiv customer service at 1-650-458-4804.

Electrical System › Propulsion System › Fuses, Relays, Contacts, And Shunts (25V261000, 2025-04-18)

Problem: Motiv Power Systems, Inc. (Motiv) is recalling certain 2019-2022 F-53 and F-59 vehicles equipped with a Motiv Gen 5 EPIC powertrain. A support bracket may fatigue and break, allowing the main power disconnect to contact other structures and short.

Risk: An electrical short can shut down the high voltage system, resulting in a loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.

Free fix: Motiv field support technicians will replace the bracket, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 9, 2025. Owners may contact Motiv customer service at 1-650-458-4804.

Vehicle Speed Control › Throttle › Throttle Position Sensor (Tps) (25V137000, 2025-03-03)

Problem: Motiv Power Systems, Inc. (Motiv) is recalling certain 2017-2020 E-450 and F-59 vehicles with Gen 4 EPIC powertrain, 2020-2023 E-450, F-59, and F-53 vehicles with a Gen 5 EPIC powertrain, and 2023-2025 Motiv F-59 and F-53 vehicles with a Gen 6 EPIC powertrain. A throttle position sensor (TPS) power wire connector pin may loosen, causing a loss of signal to the powertrain control module and a loss of drive power.

Risk: Loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Free fix: Motiv field support technicians will inspect and repair, or replace the PCM connector, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 23, 2025. Owners may contact Motiv customer service at 1-650-458-4804.
