Each recall: problem, risk and fix
Structure › Body (26V461000, 2026-07-16)
Problem: International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025-2027 IC Bus CECB transit buses. The driver's window panel and entrance door vertical joints may have been attached without sufficient epoxy coverage. As such these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."
Risk: The body panels may separate during a crash, reducing structural integrity and increasing the risk of injury.
Free fix: Dealers will install rivets along the driver's side window seam and entrance door seam, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 8, 2026. Owners may contact International's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 26512.
Parking Brake › Conventional › Air (25V647000, 2025-09-25)
Problem: International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025-2026 IC Bus CECB commercial buses. A tire may contact and damage the air dryer discharge line, causing an air leak and the unintentional activation of the parking brake.
Risk: Unintended activation of the parking brake while driving increases the risk of a crash.
Free fix: Dealers will inspect, replace, and reroute the lines as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 17, 2025. Owners may contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 25518.
Service Brakes, Hydraulic › Fluid (25V502000, 2025-08-06) Park Outside
Problem: International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2018 International 4000 Series 4300, 2017-2025 MV, 2018-2024 1300 FBC, 2018-2025 IC Bus TC, and 2024-2025 IC Bus CECB vehicles. The brake pressure switch assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch's electrical components and cause an electrical short-circuit.
Risk: An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked.
Free fix: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will install a silicone black jumper harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 15, 2025. Owners may contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 25509. Vehicles previously repaired under 23V397 will need to have the new remedy completed.
Exterior Lighting › Headlights (25V177000, 2025-03-20)
Problem: International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025 IC Bus CECB buses equipped with halogen headlights. When the high beams are activated, the low beams turn off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Risk: Headlight low beam failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free fix: Dealers will update the body control module (BCM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2025. Owners may contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 25503.
