Problem: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017-2023, 2025 CMX500, 2017-2023, 2025-2026 CMX300, and 2025 Honda SCL500 motorcycles. The handlebar lock screw may loosen and detach.

Risk: A detached screw may lodge between the frame and stem, interfering with steering and increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Free fix: Dealers will replace the lock screw and apply thread lock, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 29, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KU8. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 26V146. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning August 4, 2026.

Problem: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2025 CMX300, CMX500, and CL500 motorcycles. The handlebar lock screw may loosen and detach.

Problem: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023 Rebel 300 (CMX300) motorcycles. The right engine crank house cover was incorrectly painted, allowing the press-fit plug to fall out.

Risk: Oil can leak onto the exhaust pipe or rear tire without the plug, increasing the risk of a fire, crash, or injury.

Free fix: Dealers will replace the right crank case cover, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 25, 2023. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-800-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KP2.
