Problem: Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2023-2027 Vision Transit Buses. The 12V power wire on one of the harnesses may become damaged and short circuit.

Risk: An electrical short can cause a disruption to safety functions such as a loss of rear lighting or instrument panel warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.

Free fix: Dealers will add an in-line fuse and repair the wire harnesses as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 9, 2026. Owners may contact Blue Bird customer service at 1-478-822-2242. Blue Bird's number for this recall is R26AG.

Service Brakes, Hydraulic › Foundation Components › Hoses, Lines/Piping, And Fittings (26V467000, 2026-07-20)

Problem: Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2022-2027 Vision transit buses. The exhaust hanger cotter pin may contact the hydraulic brake line, damaging the line and causing a brake fluid leak.

Risk: A brake fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source such as hot engine or exhaust components can increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, a brake fluid leak can extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.

Free fix: Dealers will replace the exhaust hanger cotter pin. Dealers will also inspect and replace the brake lines as necessary. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Problem: Blue Bird Bus Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2021-2026 Vision school buses. The brake interlock software may unintentionally activate the parking brake at any driving speed.

Risk: A bus that stops suddenly without warning, increases the risk of a crash.

Problem: Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2020-2024 All American and 2021-2024 Vision transit buses. The emergency exit label operating instructions lettering is too small and may be difficult to read. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

Risk: An emergency exit label that is difficult to read can prevent or delay the use of the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury.

Problem: Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Vision and 2021-2023 All American transit buses. The convertible seats may have been incorrectly installed, which can result in an unsecured seat. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

Risk: An unsecured seat may not adequately restrain an occupant, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Equipment Adaptive/Mobility (22V763000, 2022-10-12)

Problem: Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2023 Vision and All-American transit buses. The entrance door handrail has an under-sized diameter and is not compliant with Part 1192, Americans with Disability Act (ADA), Appendix A, Chapter 3, T303.3.2, which requires a minimum diameter of 1.25 inches.

Risk: A smaller handrail may be difficult to grip, possibly resulting in a slip or fall and increasing the risk of injury.

Problem: Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Vision transit buses equipped with a 7.3L gasoline engine. The transmission shift cable may have insufficient clearance from the gasoline fuel supply line at the left rear corner of the engine, which can result in a fuel leak.

Risk: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Problem: Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Blue Bird Vision transit buses equipped with Roush fuel return lines included in GEN 4 and GEN 5 LPG Conversion Systems that were installed on vehicles sold or registered in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington D.C., West Virginia, and Wisconsin. The zinc-plating on the fuel return line may break away when contacted by road debris, causing two dissimilar metals on the fuel line to contact each other and corrode.

Risk: A corroded fuel line can leak fuel, increasing the risk of a fire.

Problem: Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling one 2023 Vision transit bus equipped with an Allison transmission. The starter interlock settings in the vehicle software are incorrect, allowing the engine to crank while the T-handle gear shifter is in Reverse or Drive. As such, this vehicle fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 102, "Transmission Shift Lever Sequence/Starter Interlock/Transmission Braking Effect."

Risk: A bus that is started in reverse or drive may result in unintended vehicle movement, and increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Problem: Blue Bird Body Company (Blue Bird) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Vision transit buses. The fuel supply line was incorrectly routed, allowing it to chafe against a bolt head, which can damage the line and create a fuel leak.

Risk: A fuel leak increases the risk of a fire.
