Townduel PASS

Two US towns. One question. Pick the higher one.

vs

How to play Townduel

Each duel shows two US places (city, state and ZIP code) and one question: where do homes cost more, where is rent higher, where do households earn more, which ZIP has more people, or where people are older. Tap the place you think is higher. You see both real numbers right away. Ten duels a day; the first ones are easy, the last ones are close.

Real data, not trivia guesses

Every number comes from the US Census Bureau's American Community Survey 2020-2024 5-year estimates, by ZIP code (ZCTA), from Ziplore, the CyberMax ZIP code API (look up any ZIP's demographics, county, time zone and nearby ZIPs). Each place is the most populous ZIP of its city, and 2,400 places across all 50 states and DC are in play.

Daily, shareable, offline

Everyone gets the same ten duels each day, so you can compare scores with friends. Share your result as a row of 🟩 and 🟥 squares or a picture card. Townduel works offline and installs on your phone like an app.

Free, with an optional Fun Pass

The daily round and one bonus round a day are free. The optional CyberMax Fun Pass ($2.99/month, $19/year, or $4.99 once) adds unlimited rounds in five topic packs (Home prices, Rent, Income, Population, Median age), every past daily, colour themes and no nudges, in every CyberMax game.

FAQ

Why does a ZIP stand for a whole town? Census numbers are published per ZIP area; we use each city's most populous ZIP and show it, so you know exactly which area is meant. Are the numbers exact? They are survey estimates with margins of error, the standard source for these figures. Why not another geography quiz? Townduel asks about money and people, not capitals, and the gaps are real, so you learn something every day.
